Candlelight Demonstration at Sid Goldstein Freedom Park

On Wednesday, September 14th, DTNPBC volunteered and participated in a Candlelight Demonstration at Sid Goldstein Freedom Park.

What did we do there?
Along with 3,000 other demonstrators around the world (Seattle, Utah, Las Vegas, Toronto, San Francisco, Paris and more), PBC SoCal members advocated for a Vietnamese government that upholds principles of democracy and human rights in Việt Nam and protested against China's territorial claims over the Paracel and Spratly Islands.

PBC members in attendance included Jason Lee, Tammy Trần, Sam Hunh, Giao TrầnTrường Bùi, Kevin Lê, and Brendon Trần.

Inspired by the demonstration, Sam Huỳnh excitedly remarked, "Events like these always make me so proud to be Vietnamese!"

Here are some photos from the event:

1. To participate and contribute in efforts to fight for democracy and human rights for Việt Nam.
2. To preserve and educate people on Vietnamese traditions and culture.
3. To participate in efforts to develop and strengthen the Vietnamese community in America.
4. To provide a space where the youth can come together to meet each other and to learn from one another, and to contribute to the Vietnamese community and Việt Nam.

Check out this blog to find out about updates what we're doing in the community, hear about current events in the Vietnamese-American community and in Việt Nam, and to learn more about the Vietnamese culture!

To all you PBC members out there, let's keep working! Tết is rolling around soon, so hope you're ready for all those after school work parties.
